Job Title: Product Development Engineer

Position Location: Intematix Corporation, Suzhou, China

Reports to: Senior ISL Plastics Manager

General Purpose/Objectives:

This exciting position is in the advanced field of solid state lighting, working with some of the world‘s leading lighting technology companies. This position offers the engineer an opportunity for advancement and to work in development of the latest solid state light technologies. This position is for development of new phosphor embedded plastic components used in solid state lighting. This position will also be responsible for testing and characterizing these components both optically and mechanically in LED systems. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

a.　　　 Responsible to developing phosphor compound formulations to meet specific color and performance targets

b.　　  Responsible for testing and characterizing phosphor components using color measurement instruments

c.　　　 Responsible for set up and operational testing of device reliability. Test are often operation tests run using LED systems which requires ability to set up simple electrical fixtures, power supplies and use of digital multi-meters and thermocouples.

d.　　  Responsible to collect and present data in professional reports using PowerPoint. Must be proficient in Excel and the ability to represent data graphically.

e.　　  Participate in customer technical meetings. Ability to clearly communicate technical results and work to achieve customer technical specifications. 

Required Qualifications:

Education: Ph.D. or M.S. in electronic engineer, materials sciences, physics or related technical field.

Experience: Will train – new college graduates will be considered. Experience in colorimetry and LED lighting a plus. 

Other skills: Strong organizational skills and analytical skills, willingness to learn new technologies and operation of advanced color measurement systems. Self started. Good oral and written skills – English and Chinese.
